The Bean is essentially a hybrid model offering an exciting alternative to riding more traditional shortboard designs. Appropriately named, the Bean has a full nose template and added width through the centre, which morphs smoothly into a tail outline typical of a standard shortboard.

The unique shape of the Bean, combined with the relaxed rocker profile throughout, provides a platform for easy paddling, efficient start-up acceleration and flow in mushy conditions, while still delivering exceptional pivot and hold in tighter sections.

Fast and full of spark as a thruster or a quad, the Bean offers acrobatic performance in the smaller sizes, and reliable performance in the higher volume sizes. As a general rule you can ride the BEAN 3-to-6 inches shorter than your regular shortboard.

  • SLXC
    • SLXC EPOXY TECHNOLOGY
SLXC construction produces a highly responsive flex pattern that stores and releases energy as the surfer transitions through a turn. Eliminating the stinger and replacing it with a parabolic carbon fiber frame allows the board to flex more naturally with the curve and flow of the wave. The result is incredible speed and drive with controlled release.

All SLXC boards are CNC milled from the shapers files then built by hand using epoxy resign, biaxial fiberglass and a specialized vacuum construction process. These boards are strong, super light and geared for high performance surfing.

Will from England, Costa Rica says:

I am 15 and learned pretty good on a longboard and a 7 foot funboard. I thought it was time to get a shorter board, so i went for an Aloha Bean SLXC 6'6'. I live in Costa Rica and the waves are pretty good, fast and peeling and this board does great. I have had it for 2 weeks and it feels great. Fast and really easy to turn. Well done GSI! P.S. Chuck's wow surf shop is a great shop that supply these and many other GSI boards, you should check it out!

Chuck from FL, costa rica says:

Man what a rip stick the 5'9" is , head high peaky waves are its home and I at 50+ was getting plenty of waves and its so drivey but loose I thought I was rippin like Ando ! If you get a chance dont be afraid ride a little one even if you think you shouldnt you will be pleasantly SHOCKED !

Luke Wilson from QLD, Australia says:

I got a 6'0 aloha bean about 4 weeks ago and have surfed it heaps on the points and beachies here on the Gold Coast in all sorts of conditions. The board goes insane, so fast and easy to turn and even better after I whacked in different fins to the basic ones it comes with. I got it from Board Culture up at Mermaid Beach and they also let me trial the FCS K2.1 fins which i then bought cos they go sooo good - thanks heaps guys for lotsa great advice. PS haven't even thought of riding my old 6'3 normal board again!

Tom from SA, Aus says:

This board is an Awesome peice of works, I have a 6 Ft stryka and I am about 5 and a half ft tall. I have surfed this board at my Local beach break that is very Fat and pretty slow,, the beachie has rows of whitewater to paddle through and sometimes is pretty full on.. i have used it here in a variety of conditions and i havent been dissapointed, on the bigger days at the beachie (6 ft Face) it has performed marvelously, it is abundant in speed when you need it ( like being caught behind the critical zone or trying to rocket to the end of a walled up 10 metres of wave) and its obediant in turns and i can feel its losseness on the wave it can do really tight arcs, i actually feel like this board was tailor made for me , it feels like an extension of my body and will match and even conquer anything that i give it . it also works reasonably in small surf 2-4 ft face , on the lower end it becomes really hard to catch the waves but even on a small 4 ft face wave that you catch it will devour every part of the face.. also it paddles really fast and duckdives really easy. great board works as an all rounder , and feels like a specialist. Better than 7s Aussie Fish and mactavish Fish (opinion)
